The Journey Starts Now

"This is the last you shall hear from meWayne. Arrived here 2 days ago. It was very difficult to catch rides to Yukon Territory. But I finally got here.
Please return all mail I receive to the sender. It may be a very long time before I return South. If this adventure proves fatal and you don't hear from me again, I want you to know you're a great man. I now walk into the wild" (Krakauer 69).

The Dynamics of Family:

In this quote it shows, Alex's own words written on a postcard, to send to his beloved friend Wayne Westerberg. In his note he portrays excitement towards his journey he is about to embark to. He also describes his hardships already occurring with it being hard to find a ride to Yukon Territory. The most interesting phrase in the quote is the fact that he realizes, this may be the last thing he does. He gives us a sense that he knows he will die, but he will die with a purpose and would have been content with his choices. Personally I love the fact Alex  acknowledges how great of a man Westerberg was. Wayne must have felt appreciated for his kindness towards Alex. The last sentence basically says it all, with just full joy and relentlessness towards his own idea of life. Alex, followed his passion to create memories and explore the unknown.
